MSM was started in 1996 when Michiel started to compete in amateur racing with the Porsche Club of America as well as the SCCA. Ready for a new challenge in 2003, MSM started in the professional arena of the Grand Am Cup. It just so happened that this coincided with the introduction by NISSAN of the new 350Z. It seemed, with NISSAN's racing history, that the new 350Z would be a very competitive car for years to come. MSM decided that it would be running the new 350Z in the Grand Am Cup. As with any new car, there were some teething problems. But despite these, MSM won a 3rd place victory in the '03 Grand Am Championship Team Points and 4th place in the Drivers Points. Having worked out these issues, MSM returned in '04 to win another 3rd place victory in the '04 Grand Am Team Points and a 2nd place in the Drivers Points. "The key to winning championships is being there at the end of every race. To be in the top at every race only makes it a little easier" says Crew Chief John Wright. MSM has certainly done that, with only a single DNF in two years, the 350EVO 350Z has proven to be a very reliable, competitive machine.
